The fight against boring Powerpoint presentations continues…

I get a lot of compliments about my presentations, mainly because I use big images, minimal text and a sense of humour. The following presentation is a good one to show the basic principles that I follow and it will give both novices and more importantly experts, some very clear advice on what makes a great presentation. This form of communication is becoming more relevant every day – so if you want to be good at it, taking the time to research how other people present is time very well spent. I continually trawl through the website Slideshare.com for ideas. There are literally tens of thousands of presentations on every topic imaginable.

    Dear Andrew.
As my experience, students learn more and more by interesting power point compare with boring text. keep going with big images, minimal text and a sense of humour presentation.

  2. Andrew, here’s my favorite PowerPoint story, that I posted on CairnsBlog a while back. Enjoy!

I did a Trojan presentation over 10 years ago now and that is exactly what they were preaching back then. 5-7 slides, minimal text, no gimmicks and comics etc. You do the talking and entertain them. The presentation was the guide but you are the show.
