Reading about the latest road crash that claimed the lives of five people from one family, drove home the importance of donating blood. But I didn’t know these people so as horrific as this accident is, there is still a sense of being removed from it.
But recently a very good friend of mine has been diagnosed with cancer, making it much more personal. It is hard to find the time and who really wants to get a needle – but how insignificant are these issues when compared to the fact that your donation could possibly save several lives?
The Red Cross Blood Bank always needs more donors – so why not grab a buddy, give the bank a call and book in (13 14 95) to save a life of two. And whilst there, give the staff at the Blood Bank a pat on the back. They do an amazing job and the volunteers are always there, rain, hail or shine.
Hey Andrew!
It’s great to see you supporting such an important cause.
Did you know that one in three people will need blood in their lifetime but only one in 30 donate blood.
I’m part of a student-led campaign aiming to inspire people to grab a friend and donate blood together, Donor Date Australia.

Hey Rachel,
Thanks for the feedback and good on you for what you are doing. I have been donating for many years now, and every time I do, I get a very warm feeling all over.
Cheers,
Andrew
You’re so awesome! I don’t think I have read through something like this before.
So great to discover somebody with original thoughts on this issue.
Really.. thank you for starting this up. This website
is one thing that is required on the internet, someone with some originality!
