“Don’t wish for a lighter load wish for broader shoulders” Michael J Fox.

Michael J Fox is well known for his roles as the baby faced actor in a range of comedy movies. Who would have imagined he would have become such an inspirational man?

For those that don’t know he was diagnosed with Parkinsons Disease at age 29 and he say’s that this illness actually saved his life.

I spent a few minutes watching a host of You Tube clips featuring Michael J Fox. Below is an interview with Larry King. Anyone struggling with illness, loss or lack will get much from this clip. I certainly did.

  1. Jean Burman says:

But just how broad do our shoulders have to be? ;-)

  2. Yes Jean, there are certainly days where our shoulders just don’t seem anywhere near big enough. But we always seem to get by and end up smiling. Thank goodness.

  3. Thank you for sharing this link~ I will in turn share it with the students who visit my blog.
It is difficult for some of them to accept that lecturers and/tutors may choose not to separate the personal from the professional.

Unfortunately, bullying within academia is very real for some students. It was for me, and others, as undergraduates, a heavy load at times.

What kept me going was that others in the world have trials beyond the opinions of those in a position of power who would rationalize their behaviour with “you deserve this”.

I accepted that this was how certain people chose to “see” me. I kept smiling; I chose (respectfully) not to accept their version of who I was.

My optimistic approach was perceived as arrogance ~:-)

  4. What is the Easiest way to Backup Sites?. I’ve been using WP DPManager and another plugin. The initial 1 seems to back up only the content. The second backs up the plugin, theme and photographs but everytime there’s an upgrade to WP I’ve to accomplish something with the .htaccess file and I cant remember what I did!. So how are you backing up your web sites? Do you back up just content or photographs plug in theme and so on?. What do you feel may be the best way to do it?
