Get your name in print

Wednesday, March 26th, 2008

There are more opportunities to get your name in print today than ever. There are so many newspapers, magazines and of course websites, and they all need content. If the editors and journalists can find industry leaders who are prepared to comment on relevant stories or to submit articles there is a good chance that they will be published in some format.

The best way to get your name in print is to supply a brief profile outlining who you are and what you do and specifically what areas you feel your able to offer an informed comment on to the various publications. It is also a good idea to supply a high resolution electronic version of your photograph (professionally done) so that the publication can publish it with any associated stories.

There are also lots of freelance journalists who are looking for subjects to write articles about. Check the local newspapers and magazines for the names of specific journalists and send them your profile and associated information.

There are many benefits from having your name in print. It gives you and your business a lot of credibility, it reinforces to your customers that you know what you are talking about and it generates new business from people who like what you say. The more your name appears in print the more it will appear as your reputation grows.

This kind of exposure is relevant at any level – either on a national level, international level or even a smaller local level. All it takes is a little bit of courage to actually submit your information and accept the fact the fact that you are good at what you do and you are just as qualified as anyone in your industry to make comment.

WHAT CAN YOU DO TODAY? Today is a good day to arrange you profile kit and send it to a number of publications. Start small if you are more comfortable and build up to larger, wider scale opportunities as your confidence grows.

Leadership is action not position

Wednesday, March 19th, 2008

All successful people became successful,
because they gave some talent or ability in the service of others.
You can contribute in some way to others,
no matter how small your talent.
You too, can become successful.

No one achieves success without being of service.

Successful people don’t use others,
other people use the successful,
for above all success is of service.

Everyone has to be someone to someone to be anyone.
Service is the essence of success.

The 101 series gets bigger……..seventh title being released in July 2008

Sunday, March 16th, 2008

Andrew Griffiths is one of the most successful small business writers in Australia with six books sold nationally. Each title is sold globablly in over 45 countries, through a range of distributors, on line books stores, clubs and retail books stores. In June Andrew will be releasing the 7th title in the 101 series and this will be “101 Secrets to Building a Winning Business”. Once again, leading Australian publishers, Allen and Unwin will be publishing this book, which is based on the previously released “Secrets to Building A Winning Business”.

Andrew explained “in the last eight or so years I have been fortunate enough to develop a very wide readership, with tens of thousands of small business owners reading my books on a regular basis. The 101 series started with “101 Ways to Market Your Business” and grew from there. I have branched out with other concepts, but at this stage the 101 titles seem to be what people want. I have about another five or six ideas which I am expanding on at present. The latest book “101 Secrets to Build a Winning Business” has been written in the same format as all of the 101 titles. Easy to read, quick grabs of information, practical examples and tips that can be implemented immediately. All of my ideas are based on proven business development concepts that I have either done myself or been involved with business who have done them and made them work.

“101 Secrets to Building a Winning Business” will be released at the Australian Booksellers Association National Conference in Melbourne in June 2008.

SUCCESS DEPENDS ON USING NOT OPPOSING

Sunday, March 9th, 2008

The world is primarily constituted on the basis of harmony.
Everything works in cooperation with something else.

Personal relationships are the fertile soil
from which all advancement, all success,
all achievement in real life grows.

Put yourself in another’s place.
Only then will you know why they think and do certain things.
Once you understand how quickly people will grant your requests
when those requests appeal to their self interest,
you can have practically anything you go after.

It’s through cooperation not conflict,
that you’ll achieve your greatest success.
