Don’t Just Sell Stuff, Become a Valuable Resource to Your Customers

I have a very good friend who is a very successful sales representative for a television station. He earns great money and he gets the best clients. He has built a wonderful relationship with his clients by becoming a hugely valuable resource for them and that is the secret of his success.

While his job is to sell advertising space for the television station, he goes above and beyond that by offering advice to his clients on any aspect of marketing. He shares his views and opinions both openly and honestly on any marketing relate issue that they may have. By doing this he has built extraordinary levels of trust with each and every one of his clients.

The end result is that he has become a valuable asset to all of his clients and the pay-off is that they book all of their television advertising through him and most of them have done so for many years. Of course he also gets incredible word of mouth referrals, because of his dedicated and loyal customers repaying the fact that he goes above and beyond the call of duty to help them.
