Andrew Griffiths has been appointed an Ambassador of the Abused Child Trust in a show of his incredible support for disadvantaged kids in our community.
As the founding Director of The Marketing Professionals and now CEO of the Oceanic Marketing Group, Andrew Griffiths is well known, well liked and highly respected across Australia – both as a person and as a business owner.
He is particularly well respected in his chosen home of Cairns and it is here that his work with the Abused Child Trust will begin.
“The appointment of Andrew is a real honour for the Abused Child Trust” said Cairns Regional Manager, Karen Dini-Paul. “Through his personal experiences of abuse and neglect and his capacity to talk to the business sector, we look forward to teaching a new range of people about the work that we do”.
“The networks we will now reach are unprecedented for us in Cairns”.
Though partially funded by government, the Cairns service of the Abused Child Trust has an annual funding shortfall of around 40%. To ensure the service is continued, a minimum $160,000 per annum must therefore be raised through fundraising activities in the Cairns community.
Within this context, the Trust has identified strong and credible advocates who can assist in gaining support from the commercial business sector, and Andrew is an ideal fit.
As stated by Andrew, “it’s a chance for me to make a real difference to our local kids. Every single person can change a life just by giving their money or their time to a reputable organisation like the Abused Child Trust. If I can get that message to just one other person, the results on the child who is helped will be amazing”.
An accomplished author and keynote speaker, Andrew’s passion is to see people develop and grow. His books are sold in more than 40 countries and he is regularly recruited to educate, inspire and entertain the Australian corporate sector as a keynote speaker.
As an Ambassador of the Abused Child Trust, Andrew will use his speaking opportunities to profile the work that the Trust performs through its therapy division called Contact House.
Persons are appointed to the role of Ambassador by invitation only, and are approached based on their strength of character and good community standing. Current and previous Ambassadors include Seven Local News presenter Joanne Desmond, Seven News Brisbane presenter Kay McGrath, supermodel Kristy Hinze, country music legend Troy Cassar-Daly, and Australian author Thomas Keneally.
